The Coming Postmodern Inhumanity
By Michael Moriarty
Postmodern humanity is a double contradiction in terms.
The term "postmodern," is a marriage of an absolute (post) to a relative word (modern), thus erasing the meaning of both. Rather like its antonym "pre-passé," it is the quintessential fruit of that late 20th century arm of the French Revolution, "Deconstruction," and the end of permanence to the literal meaning of words. If the French wish to kill God, there is no better place to start than with the meaning of the word itself. If St. John was right and "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was God…," then one must eradicate the word and the concept behind the word. This is the main operating principle in our postmodern world.
In addition, "postmodern humanity" is actually institutionalized inhumanity. The postmodern era was kicked off with 9/11 and, after America’s invasion of Iraq, Saddam Hussein is in jail but Osama bin Laden still runs free, and his suicide bombers are changing into a mushroom cloud over Iran. Goose-stepping Iranian regiments parade before us on our television screens in a manner that is reminiscent of Adolf Hitler’s brownshirts swaggering in the Movietone newsreels of the late 1930s and early 1940s.
The greatest danger is not even the terrorizing dictatorships across the Pacific but the Clinton family and the Bush family whitewashing a postmodern philosophy with Progressive Southern Evangelism! Since when did America agree to surrender to a Coalition Idea such as the Bush/Clinton Third Way Pax Americana? What happened to the two-party system of American democracy? Since when can a Supreme Court refuse American States’ rights over life-and-death issues like capital punishment? How long will America live with a "government of the Supreme Court, by the Supreme Court and for the postmodern world?"
U.S. President Lyndon Baines Johnson brought the pace of American socialism up to the speed the Democratic Party had expected of his predecessor John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Whoever wins the 2008 presidential election, whether it is Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton or Republican Rudolph Giuliani, will nail down a fat gouge-and-screw tax on the middle class, while parading United Nations troops around U.S. cities as if they were liberators and taking the guns out of the hands of licensed civilians. That is what to expect in the coming six years.
The human race has never descended to the depths of such humanicide, best described as the Maoist/UN Population Control Policy. The Free World can never again look down on Nazi Germany. What was genocide is now a Rainbow Coalition version of the same thing. What drove Hitler and his dream of a German Superman still drives the postmodern governments: the vision of a Superhuman Race, one outlined by Sir Francis Galton in his Bible of Eugenics, Hereditary Genius.
Postmodern humanity? A double contradiction in terms. The most lethal, double oxymoron in human history.
