I consider myself most fortunate in having been blessed with my adoptive parents in Italy. My wife and I are staying with them for the next few days and no words can convey my gratitude to God for the joy these two angels bring to my life. Since this editorial is not about heavenly blessings but earthly powers and European resignation, I felt it only appropriate to share with you the reason I’m now in Italy.

Maria and Giuseppe, my parents, both helped Italy endure the 20th century. For Europe, the two world wars brought years of agony; and, as Michael Burleigh reveals in his exceptional record of European history entitled Earthly Powers, war was inevitable following the "convulsion," as he calls it, of the French Revolution. The estate-by-estate dissolution of France, the "greatest daughter of the Catholic Church," proved to be the undoing of all of Europe. The French Revolution inevitably led to the horrors of Soviet Russia and Maoist China.

With the instalment by the "Enlightened French" of a growing human consciousness advertised as "beyond good and evil," the human race began to descend into the Tyranny of Science and, unless a few basic Judeo-Christian fundamentals are reinstated, a horrifyingly sacrificial religion called Eugenics will prevail. Today’s eugenicists echo the creed of America’s first expositor of Eugenics Charles Davenport, who believed the human race should be "bred like livestock" to precipitate Hereditary Genius, as espoused by the founder of Eugenics Sir Francis Galton (1822-1911).

To give you some idea of how widespread Eugenics is, anyone who styles himself a "Progressive" is a Eugenicist. France fell to the "know-it-alls," the savants of the Louvre. The Boswell of that revolutionary strategy, Karl Marx, exported the formulas with his Das Kapital and Communist Manifesto.

Russia and China fell to this disease of the intellect. Now more than 300 million people are dead in its wake: World War II’s butchered Europeans at the hands of German National Socialism, 130 million murdered in Soviet and Red Chinese purges and starvations, and untold millions of lives snuffed out in the worldwide Maoist Population Control Policies of abortion and euthanasia. What possible greater danger to the human race from plague, natural disasters or aliens could there be than these very "enlightened" formulas and policies of Man’s Brave New World Order? Our willingness to accept this massive body count is horrifying! Here we are, having nervous breakdowns over bird flu while abortionists are slaughtering 1.5 million gestating Americans every year on average! As yet, no annual global figure for abortions has been tallied, but I’m sure it is staggering.

Since the French Revolution, Europe has resigned itself to a life controlled by Science and the Scientific Mind. Without a Church to teach lessons in human decency, Europeans tread water in the rising tides of the European Union’s Socialist Federation. What can a freshly liberated Ukraine expect from membership in the EU as it grows ever more Soviet-like with each passing year? There’s no doubt about it, nothing can cure the problems of life faster than death and murder, according to EU technocrats and bureaucrats! The cure-all for the world’s social ills is an abortionist’s hypodermic needle!

So weakened is Judeo-Christianity in Europe that the socialist leadership can easily expurgate the European Constitution of any reference to Christ and institute Europe’s single effort at racial integration by "mainlining" the immigration of the Bible’s oldest enemy – Islam! No other anti-western zealots have been given such an Open Door Policy. Obviously the EU’s "progressive" leadership thinks that Europe is ready to accept the coup de grâce! Europe seems as docile before the laboratories of social engineering as thousands of Jews were before the slaughterhouses of the Holocaust.

Is our final, universal and all-powerful language ultimately going to be the ice-cold, indifferent integers of mathematics? Will quantum theory replace the ancient Greek and Latin of a purposely obfuscating Catholic Church? Is the "totalitarian beast" of Rome going to be replaced by an even more horrifying and homicidally omnipotent God of Science? Judging from Europe’s attitude of resignation, the answer is "yes"!

As for the United States of America, I’ve written about what the U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision did to Americans’ inalienable right to life upon creation, not gestation. Only the State of South Dakota rose to the challenge of banning abortion. God bless South Dakota!

It’s clear, both from contemporary facts and the 20th century’s lessons in history, that if America won’t do anything to stop "perverse science," no other nation will. America’s problem is that she must first vacuum out the enthrallment with abortion which the Supreme Court put her under, then dispose of it in Paris where the whole nightmare began. Only then can the U.S. help Europe out of its suicidal demographic decline.

Otherwise, Europe will continue to drown in resignation and America will suffocate under an increasingly hypocritical careerism, one based on consent without advice.
