Awakening Israel and the Catholic Church
By Michael Moriarty
Actor Michael Moriarty (Holocaust, Taken, Hitler Meets Christ, Law and Order) has founded a new political party -- The Realists -- and may run for Governor of Florida in November 2002, against his old nemesis, former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno. In the following editorial, Moriarty warns that the Jewish flirtation with Socialism could spell doom for the Land of Israel.
CHALK TALK THREE
'THE REALISTS’ foundation for reality is the entire history of Western Civilization, or, as it is historically understood, the fruit on the tree of three major religious, cultural and political events: the Ancient Greek democracy and its polytheism, which eventually found even profounder tenets of freedom in the monotheistic House of Israel, culminating in the advent of Jesus of Nazareth and what we now know as the Judeo-Christian Civilization.
The guidebooks to Western Civilization are the entire bibliography of Ancient Athens, the Torah or Old Testament, and the New Testament and its inextricably-bound influence upon Western arts, sciences and democratic governments.
Since the composition of the world’s first true democracy -- that of Ancient Greece -- can only be fully understood through the refracted prism of its polytheism, it is difficult to imagine what the Greeks must have felt as they submitted their lives to the will of many gods. With the creation of Israel and the recognition of Yahweh as the One God, a much different relationship between Man and the universe began. The stories of the Old Testament portray a very anthropomorphic deity, with emotions so human and seemingly flawed – fits of jealousy and paranoia that sound more psychotic than divine – that life at times appeared to be more a trial of abject slavery than the sightings of a promised land.
The Creator, whom Jesus worshipped and obeyed, had the very same name -- Yahweh. That Jesus appeared to be delivering a much different message from the traditional Ten Commandments was only one of the many reasons the House of Israel rejected his offers of salvation. Like a metaphysical Albert Einstein, Jesus reduced the essence of the Ten Commandments to one Golden Rule – "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Jesus also admonished the establishment rabbis -- the Pharisees -- with blistering invective. It is no wonder that Jesus’ message was received more readily in the pagan world than in the land of his own people.
Nonetheless, what now constitutes Western civilization is the frequently painful relationship between Europe, North America and the Holy Lands. Moses and the heroes of the Old Testament are as much founding fathers of our culture as George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were the architects of America. To discard these origins is to destroy the roots to the very cultural ground we stand on. It is cultural suicide.
Following more than 3,000 years of Judeo-Christian glory and disaster, heroism and hypocrisy, sainthood and sin, a man appeared, who would collect and list every sin committed by the Judeo-Christian world and offer up a solution to Humanity’s problems with the opening declaration: "God does not exist. Any belief in such an illusion is a drug, an opiate of the oppressed, and the groundwork for an unending exploitation of the poor."
If you accept this first precept, then everything else in the works of Karl Marx appears to make sense. It makes so much sense that the Communist Manifesto has been embraced more as prophecy than politics. The Revolution is, to Marxists, not an alternative but an historical inevitability.
Funded by Friedrich Engels, Marx’s dream of Utopia could not possibly have been installed anywhere without the ruthless determination of Communism’s "contractor," Vladimir Ilyich Lenin. With Josef Stalin and Mao Zedong following swiftly on Lenin’s heels, the 20th-Century’s experience of the communist totalitarian state was assured.
If the first tenet of Socialism’s faith is that God does not exist, it does not eradicate religious fanaticism. It actually explodes the atheist’s vision into God-like presumptions of authority, not only over one’s fellow man, but over life and death itself. Neither the Golden Rule nor the commandment that "thou shalt not kill" even enters the consciousness of a Marxist fundamentalist or communist comrade.
So if THE REALISTS are, in a sense, defending the reality of the entire Judeo-Christian civilization, it would appear that we are doomed to failure by the very nature of our religious commitment to non-violence. As REALISTS, however, we read from the book of Western history a very different tale from the Christian dream of love and forgiveness. The flagrant abuses of Christian men in power, some within the Church itself, have more people turning to Karl Marx out of bitterness and disillusion than from any positive belief in Marx’s Revolution.
If Western civilization is the filthy and corrupted frying pan from which most of Mankind wishes to escape, then the Marxist, multicultural, utopian melting pot is an all-engulfing ocean that will accept this uprooted mass of human driftwood and ignite itself. The megadeaths, which socialist federations — like German National Socialism and Soviet Communism --are so accustomed to, will mount into the billions. The human race is treading water in dangerous socialist seas. World War III, under a One-World socialist federation, will be atomic and there’ll be no moral high ground on either side. God, Allah, Yahweh and Christ -- all the Deities that Marxists say do not exist -- will not intervene. And, if the Almighty is at all in the image of Man, who could blame Him?
Biblical Suicide
The shepherds have misled their flocks so often that the flight of their congregations from home and into the arms of Karl Marx might be called the Great Captivated Diaspora, both Jewish and Christian. So many Marxist Jews and Christians have been led to believe that their confidence in a new One-World Order does not in the least compromise their moral precepts. Quite the contrary, to some Jews, Marx was the true Messiah. For many Christians, he was the Second Coming.
Socialist Israelis and Marxist Rabbis
The Marxist phenomenon that has overtaken the House of Israel has been almost exactly mirrored in the socialist’s invasion of both the Church of England and Catholic Church, despite the Vatican’s denunciation of Liberation Theology. The ‘Robin Hood religion’, which is as favorable a description of Marxism as a REALIST can give, has hypnotized both Christians and Jews into believing that nothing in Das Kapital or The Communist Manifesto contradicts the Ten Commandments or the teachings of Christ.
It is difficult these days to find any prominent Jewish leader, spokesperson, journalist, entertainer, politician or Reform rabbi who is not, in one way or another, a socialist. A powerful lobby of Israeli leaders and Jewish intellectuals worldwide broadcasts more Marx than Moses. Apparently, they see no contradiction between the two. Consistent moral support from columnists -- such as Lewis Friedman of The New York Times -- is given to Palestinian demands and grievances. Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, with the unrelenting help and guidance of President William Clinton, was prepared to feed much of Israel to Yasir Arafat, like a lamb on a spit. Only Arafat’s bottomless greed saved Israel from Barak’s all-too willing humiliation of his own country. Former U.S. vice-presidential candidate Senator Joe Lieberman, while spouting his religious credentials, used them as a tool to inflict his Janet Reno-like attacks on the First Amendment guaranteeing freedom of speech. Fortunately, prominent American rabbis disassociated themselves from Lieberman’s highly contradictory pronouncements. Put succinctly, a Marxist mensch is, to a REALIST, a contradiction in terms.
The Christian Parallel
The two greatest liberation theologists in recent history are the Catholic Pierre Trudeau of Canada and the Protestant William Jefferson Clinton of the United States. Between the two of them, all of North America has been placed under a spell so hypnotic that, to this day, the wake of their influence is still being felt in pews and pulpits across that continent. The head of the United Church of Canada, the Right Reverend Bill Phipps, proclaimed in 1999 that Canadians should "pay their taxes joyfully." As if charity without an ounce of free will could possibly gain any credits in heaven! President Clinton’s frequent attendance and homilies at Congressional prayer services charmed many a Christian politician into thinking that the government’s expropriation of Christian charities, and the creation of a welfare state through enforced "progressive taxation," is almost a holy act. That the separation of church and state has been a fundamental protector of individual freedom does not even occur to most North American citizens.
The obligation of priests and ministers to invoke Christian charity from their more affluent congregations no longer exists. It is now announced in some churches and cathedrals that no Christian need give a thing to the homeless on the street because the government has "taken care of all that."
"Let us do unto the rich what we would not want done unto ourselves" is the new (and rather tarnished) Golden Rule.
Trudeau and Clinton are the bipartite Robin Hoods of a Merry Band that has grown to encompass 300 socialist federations worldwide, and whose Sherwood Forest is the United Nations’ Headquarters in New York City.
The constituencies that have empowered these leaders are women, labor, Third Worlders, North American minorities and "alternate-lifestyle" lobbyists. It sounds like the entire human race, minus a few privileged and disorderly minorities called ‘conservatives’. The Marxists have so successfully demonized Christ, conservatism, individual freedom devoid of lobbyists, and all of Israel that every devout Catholic and authentically orthodox Jew is now cornered in the same, increasingly bloody arena, like the early Christians fighting for their lives in the Roman Coliseum.
The Meaninglessness of Money and Private Property under Socialism
If, as devout socialists believe, all human enterprise will eventually be guided by the State, then private property is a pre-Marxian and therefore prehistoric concept. Israeli socialists are increasingly convinced that even the symbol of Jewish sovereignty -- the Land of Israel -- is irrelevant to the Jewish contribution to Humanity’s future, as envisioned under a One-World Order. The end of Israel is, to them, a kind of Pyrrhic loss, something of no great importance to the larger issue of bringing about world peace and harmony.
Liberation priests and ministers pray for the time when all church leadership will ultimately be Marxist. What contradictions might exist between Christ’s teachings and Marxism are, to the liberation theologist, of no importance in the grand scheme of bringing about a truly messianic deliverance of the poor from tribulation.
Only Pope John Paul I -- to my mind the greatest Pope in the entire history of the Catholic Church -- has, with divine simplicity and humility, shown the way for both his throne’s successors and the correct path for orthodox rabbis worldwide to entice their wayward flocks back to the fold.
John Paul’s repeated public acts of contrition for the past sins of the Catholic Church are not an effort to ingratiate himself with his critics, but a heartrending cry to his own flock to forgive the profoundly flawed shepherds who preceded him for their myriad failings, injustices and hypocrisies. John Paul asks us to forgive our shepherds, for they still know not what they do, and to return home to Rome.
If, because of the Judeo-Christian history of corruption and tyranny, God’s flocks will be led Pied- Piper-like by the liberation theologists into a hell far exceeding anything divined by the Inquisitions or hypocritical Pharisees, then the obligation of all religious leaders is to perform a mammoth Act of Contrition. They must do this before they are utterly discredited before their once trusting flocks.
In receiving a sincere Act of Contrition, forgiveness is not only an obligation, but the most eternal and profound act of humility allowed us. Forgiveness is also the most difficult – and yet also the most rewarding -- act of love.
REALISTS, let’s go home.
